In the book of Job we look at the specific emotions that Job experienced. Since these emotions can threaten to overwhelm us, it is imperative that we learn how to guard our perspective during the storms of suffering. First we examine several things that we can do to protect our perspective. Secondly, we discover a number truths with which to counsel our minds during these seasons of suffering.

Bible Text: Genesis chapter 3; Job | Preacher: Nancy Hawes, Teacher | This study introduces our topic of Suffering, looking into the reasons for suffering in the world. In Genesis 3 we see that the fall and curse is the first reason for suffering. In addition we see that there continues to be enmity between Satan and the human race and, as Job testifies to the fact, that Satan is often the author of much of the suffering around us. Thirdly, is the fact that the human race continues to exercise their free will to sin,often inflicting suffering on those within their sphere.
