Bible Text: Various passages in the latter part of Job | Preacher: Nancy Hawes, Teacher | Series: Searching Out the Subject of Suffering | We begin by studying how Job’s attitude towards God was transformed when God spoke truth into Job’s heart. Job goes from bitterly accusing God to humbly repenting of his self righteous attitude. He sees who God is and who he is not. We then turn to Elisabeth Elliot’s book, Suffering Is Never for Nothing and look at various excerpts from chapters 5 & 6, examining the concepts of offering and transfiguration. (These excerpts are used with permission from B&H Publishing Group.) In conclusion, some practical applications are shared on how we can experience God’s transforming power in our own personal suffering.
